Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy set for showdown at Mission Hills Haikou

“The Match at Mission Hills” is set for October 28th featuring an 18 hole showdown between Rory McIlroy and world’s #1, Tiger Woods. This will be their second head-to-head contest in China, the first, resulting in a one shot victory for McIlroy. The pair will be playing on the 7,808 yard, Schmidt-Curley Designed Blackstone Course at Mission Hills Haikou which most recently hosted the 2012 World Cup of Golf. Woods had this to say about his upcoming match in Haikou, China:

“I’ve heard a lot of good things about Blackstone, so it should be a great course for the re-match with Rory, who I know has played there before in the World Cup. I’ve played at Mission Hills on the mainland, but this will be my first time playing at their Haikou resort so I’m looking ahead to visiting Hainan Island for the first time.”

“I’m hoping to win this time,” Woods said. “We both played well last year, but Rory got me by one. I’ve had a really good year on the PGA Tour, so it would be nice to earn another trophy in China.”
